At Functional Malta our experience treating regularly professional athletes helped us to build an optimised protocole to offer the most efficient sports recovery massage.

All our massages are done with the benefits of Tecar Therapy to enhance your recovery and boost your healing process.

Sports massage is designed to release adherences and tensions in the soft tissues caused from repetitive physical activity.

Regular sports massage helps athletes to decrease their risk of injury by reducing the accumulation of muscular fatigue.

A sport massage is not adapted in treating a pain or an injury, this has to be assessed with an osteopathic treatment first.

Relaxation massage will use different and more gentle techniques in order to help your body and mind to vent out your daily stress.

Targeted areas: upper or lower back / whole body / legs

3 different duration: 30, 60 or 90 minutes.

Tecar Therapy

Tecar therapy is the most used device in sport teams for sport recovery and injury management and prevention.

It's technology is mainly based on the production of heat: Tecar stimulates the production of heat within the human body in order to speed up the healing process.

Tecar enhances blood flow, promotes inflammation reduction  that reduces pain and accelerates tissue repair.
Unlike other machines, such as laser therapy and infrared thermotherapy, which use heat from outside (exogenous), Tecar machines use endogenous heat).

Tecar therapy is used as well during our massage selection for sports or relaxation.

Targeted areas: whole body.

  • Improve blood circulation

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Boost detoxification and metabolism

  • Best for sport recovery
